2024 aluminum is well suited for parts and structures requiring high strength to weight ratios. It is predominantly used in aerospace, with some power and general industrial applications. The key alloying element is copper, enhancing strength via response to thermal treatment. For end use applications subject to aerodynamic heating, 2024 aluminum is suitable at temperatures up to approximately 300°F. 2024 Aluminum has good machining characteristics and high surface finishes are possible.
Extruded bar is solution heat treated (910°F – 930°F), cold worked, then naturally aged. Stress relief is provided by stretching a nominal permanent set of 2%. The effect of cold work and straightening are included in mechanical property limits. Cold finishing of bar imparts exceptional dimensional uniformity and internal properties.

6061 aluminum is one of the most versatile heat-treatable aluminum alloys, with good formability and high resistance to corrosion. Containing magnesium and silicon additions, alloy 6061 features medium strength relative to 2000 or 7000 series aluminum alloys. 6061 is one of the most common alloys of aluminum for general-purpose use, and is highly-weldable using MIG or TIG methods. The response to anodization of 6061 aluminum is among the highest in class.
Extruded Bar is solution heat treated (960-1075°F) and quenched, then stretched a nominal 2% for stress relieving purposes before artificially aging (340-360°F). This combination of solution treatment, water quenching, and artificial aging imparts high strength.

Aluminium Alloy 2014 (2014 A) is a copper based alloy with very high strength together with excellent machining characteristics. Alloy 2014 is commonly used in many aerospace structural applications due to its high strength. Other applications include military vehicles, bridges, weapons manufacture and structural applications.
2014 aluminium alloy (aluminum) is an aluminium-based alloy often used in the aerospace industry.
It is easily machined in certain tempers, and among the strongest available aluminium alloys, as well as having high hardness. However, it is difficult to weld, as it is subject to cracking.
2014 is the second most popular of the 2000-series aluminum alloys, after 2024 aluminum alloy.
It is commonly extruded and forged. The corrosion resistance of this alloy is particularly poor. To combat this, it is often clad with pure aluminum. If unclad 2014 aluminum is to be exposed to the elements, it should be painted as a corrosion protection measure.

2219 aluminium alloy is an alloy in the wrought aluminium-copper family (2000 or 2xxx series). It can be heat-treated to produce tempers with higher strength but lower ductility. The aluminium-copper alloys have high strength, but are generally less corrosion resistant and harder to weld than other types of aluminium alloys. To compensate for the lower corrosion resistance, 2219 aluminium can be clad in a commercially pure alloy such as 1050 or painted. This alloy is commonly formed by both extrusion and forging, but is not used in casting.
The 2219 aluminium alloy in particular has high fracture toughness, is weld-able and resistant to stress corrosion cracking, therefore it is widely used in supersonic aircraft skin and structural members. The Space Shuttle Standard Weight Tank was also fabricated from the 2219 alloy.Aluminium Alloy 2219 is a high strength alloy which combines good machinability and good mechanical properties. 2219 is useful over a temperature range of -452°F to 600°F, is readily weldable and has good fracture toughness. In the T8 condition it is resistant to stress corrosion cracking.
Aluminium 2219 is typically used in a range of aerospace applications such as high temperature structural applications including space booster and fuel tanks.

3103 aluminum alloy is commercial aluminum which is close in properties to 3003. With very good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and excellent mechanical properties, 3103 is a versatile alloy which is used in the aerospace, oil and gas industry and automotive sector amongst others. The material has improved mechanical properties over 1000 series aluminum alloys, especially at elevated working temperatures. This feature widens the use of the alloy as a construction cladding material.
The range of applications for the this range is diverse - from domestic kitchen equipment such as pots and pans to heat exchangers used in power plants. Our range of 3000 series aluminum alloys can be used at elevated temperatures and offers good formability. Aluminum / aluminum is widely used in several commercial, transportation and building applications. One of the key benefits of this silverfish white metal is its excellent corrosion resistance. Aluminum is also light weight, relatively strong, and has good thermal and electrical conduction.
Aluminium / aluminum 4047 alloy is a non-heat treatable wrought alloy type with good corrosion resistance. It is a filler alloy, and is quite similar to aluminium / aluminum 4043 except for the higher silicon content in aluminium / aluminum 4047 alloy. The higher silicon content provides improved fluidity during welding process with smooth finishes, as well as reduced shrinkage. It is suitable for elevated temperature operations.

Aluminium alloy 5005 contains nominally 0.8% magnesium. It has medium strength, good weldability, and good corrosion resistance in marine atmospheres. It also has the low density and excellent thermal conductivity common to all aluminium alloys. It is the most commonly used grade of aluminium in sheet and plate form. Aluminium alloy 5005 is a lean aluminium magnesium alloy which can be hardened by cold work: it is not heat treatable to higher strength.
Corrosion Resistance of Aluminium Alloy 5005
Corrosion Resistance 5005 has the same high resistance to general corrosion as other non heat treatable aluminium alloys. It also has the higher resistance to slightly alkaline conditions common to the 5000 series alloys. The atmospheric corrosion resistance of 5005 is similar to that of 3003.
When anodised to improve corrosion resistance, the film on 5005 is clearer than on 3003, and gives better colour match with 6063 architectural extrusions.
The corrosion resistance of aluminium alloys relies on a protective surface oxide film, which when damaged is readily repaired by the rapid reaction between aluminium and oxygen. However, the high reactivity of the base metal can give rapid corrosion if the film cannot be repaired, so aluminium alloys are not suitable for use with reducing media.
Since aluminium is a reactive metal, it may corrode more quickly when in electrical contact with most other metals.

1100 aluminum alloy is an aluminum-based alloy in the "commercially pure" wrought family (1000 or 1xxx series). With a minimum of 99.0% aluminum, it is the most heavily alloyed of the 1000 series. It is also the mechanically strongest alloy in the series, and is the only 1000-series alloy commonly used in rivets. At the same time, it keeps the benefits of being relatively lightly alloyed (compared to other series), such as high electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and workability. It can be strengthened by cold working, but not by heat treatment
